Passing through the canyon the river flowed lazily around the curves of the sloping walls, rocks here and there jutted out of the water, then from the air dropped a whisker. Where could that have come from?
skates dig in and score short lines all over the ice,
it’s game 7 and
all eyes are fixed on the puck.
Fans rise in the stands,
the Canucks have all the luck
as they reach for the Stanley Cup!

Clear notes echo through the trees, the robin is singing his evening song, his orange chest puffed out like an opera singer on stage.
There is no chorus just him, and then a truck drives by, stops and begins to backup. A mechanical “beep, beep, beep” pierces the air, then silence.
The robin turns his head to the darkening sky and resumes singing.
Metal wheels rolled along the pavement, loud
the sound grew louder and louder, it was like a wave coming down the hill, the dogs started to bark, the crows flew from their lookout on the hydro wire,
a blur went by
just for a moment it looked like a penguin on a skateboard!
Roll, roll, roll, what did the yogi say? The air is moving as arms and legs spin in circles, the light bulb overhead starts to flicker as the energy in the room takes on a new level, then the room gets dark and someone claps their hands, time to wake up and stop rolling!

Looking out the window, wondering where the time went, the day’s light dimmed.

Mr. Rooster realized his window was a landscape painting of some far away land.
Water drops off the end of the paddle,
melting into the quiet waters of the lake, everything is in balance,
Sitting in the bright sunlight, the ceramic pot filled with soil sat and sat,
then out of the blue the dogwood grew and grew,
who would have guessed, it didn’t bark or want to go for a walk, or need a scratch on the head.
Just a little water now and then.
